The scales of Maat sit in a field of daffodils before a row of pines, with a heart of the dead being weighed against a feather. The sun and moon are both visible in the sky, flanking the constellation. The concept of divine judgement connects Libra with Levi, whose symbol was the breastplate of an ancient jewish priest. Like the sun and moon, the flowers and trees also represent a duality as daffodils recall the legend of Narcissus who fell in love with his own reflection in a pond and drowned, while the pine trees represent wisdom and longevity. A large peridot stone is embedded in the center of the golden scales, held aloft by a scarab. Libra is an Air sign.
